Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the closing game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He won a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors anywhere in the world. While wagering on web poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be found competing in web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
